Quest: Finding the Habu

[atrb=background,http://i53.tinypic.com/24doc4h.png] Chante paced into the Public Courtyard when she saw Filius. She had met him once before because of a wound she needed too be healed. He looked completely and utterly... well, frazzled. She walked up to him, he had saved her once before from a terrible bite on the foreleg that had begun to fester. He had pulled out the infection that had begun to settle into her and it was the least she could do to try and do what she could to help him. She put on somewhat comforting smile as she talked to him, "Hey Filius, remember me, Chante? What's wrong, you look a little... anxious." "Ah, Chante! You came at a perfect time, I do believe that you can help me. See I need this herb but I can't find the right tree it's hanging on. It's called habu and is a light pink hue. Be careful though because around the tree is a big grouping of thorns," of course he needed something from her. Chante merely meant to help him calm down. She mentally shrugged her shoulders, how bad could the thorns be? Nodding to show that she would join his cause to get the herb, he quickly smiled a relieved smile and she grinned slightly back but the emotion was not there. He told where the herb was located, Fantaji forest, at least she wouldn't get lost she knew that forest like the back of her paw as she had been born there. Nodding to him she danced away in a quick trot. ~~~~ It took her a couple hours to get to Fantaji and she didn't Jump at all. She didn't assume it would help much and she decided she wanted to save her energy for getting through the thorns. She stayed at a quick trot for most the time, only stopping smell the air every now and then to make sure she was going in the right direction. She had left the Kingdom and the stink of living behind an hour ago and so reveled in the feeling of being "free" once more. She saw Fantaji in the distance and continued her steady pace to it. Soon she was in it, smiling at once again the feeling of home encompassed her with warm arms. Her smile was filled with love and compassion, so few times was that seen on her face. But now she felt the love from the forest envelope her and she welcomed it fully. The trees hadn't changed much since she had last been here. Of course there were a few new fallen ones and the leaves were everywhere now, but that wasn't much for an ancient forest. They went through that daily and so they merely shrugged it off and went about their business. The little animals were rushing this way and that, gathering food for the winter. Though most of them disappeared once Chante moved around the bend. She had only moved a few feet in when suddenly she was greeted by the sight of the very herb she had been searching for. At least she hoped it was this herb because the thorns were there and so was the pink hue. So how many trees could look like that? She inhaled and the smell hit her, the disgusting scent of stink weed. Wrinkling her nose in disgust at the smell she walked around the circle of thorns. There was no thorns in the center by the tree but the thorns were thick and hard to get through. They looked like dead brambles only with larger thorns. She sneered at them and then closed her eyes and dove straight into them. Trying her best to get through them as quickly as possible many just snagged on her thick coat. But eventually pricks began to get through and as she continued to move the pain of them ripping through her skin erupted across her hide. She growled at the pain and kept moving. She wasn't even sure this was worth it, what did this damn herb do? It better do something pretty important or else she was going to kill and eat Filius. The empty threat being muttered in her head made her feel so much better and she continued on. Her golden pelt had begun to turn red in spots as blood trickled from the flesh wounds. Her eyes were still closed and she was still going straight when all of a sudden the brambles began to lessen and her head was able to get above them. She blinked as her eyes opened, she had a small cut right above her right eyelid that was slowly bleeding into her eye. She shook her head and blood droplets went everywhere. She was a couple feet from the thorn-less center near the tree and so she Jumped. Her body faded out of sight for a second and suddenly she was in front of the tree. It was a simple task from there then. Jumping into the tree she flitted from branch to branch by jumping regularly. Soon she was by the tree's very top and she was able to reach up her neck and grab the damned herb that had caused her beautiful coat to become covered in her own blood. She glanced around and then Jumped from the tree onto the ground. She blinked and shook the blood from her eyes again. Tired and physically sore Chante made her way back to the Kingdom. It took her about half and hour longer because she stopped more often to rest. HEr body was in pain and she was sure that she would need Filius's healing capabilities once again. She was soon home, though, arriving as the sun was setting. As she made her way, slowly, to Filius's shop she was soon swept up by him. A warm smile was emanating from his face as he took the herb and fussed over her. They were small wounds so he merely healed them by spreading a poultice on most and using magic for the others. She was then sent home, with a thank you and green slime smeared all over her cuts that smelled strongly herbal. All she wanted to do now was sleep and so she would.
